This paper introduces the finding of a research project about business resilience in Barrio Obrero, San Juan, Puerto Rico. A full interview was applied to 30 businesspeople of Barrio Obrero, of a universe of business of 90 shops. Their responses provided qualitative information about why they were resilient after Hurricane María (September 20, 2017). The general conclusion of this research provides concrete information of the lack of integration between U.S. Colonialism in Puerto Rico and the resilient capacity of those interviewed. They are two worlds apart.
