Abstract

The objective of this paper is to visualize the contribution that women have in the Panamanian rural environment, focused on primary production carried out in eight subsectors by type of product, considering the level of investments according to the
financing granted, land tenure and as a consequence of this, the calculated effects of indirect employment that affects other sectors of the economy. The methodology is part of the analysis of the data of the VII National Agricultural Census and the application of the
IOT's 2007, 2010 and 2015, to determine the impact of this production. The results show  the enormous inequality between female producers and male producers, by only owning the
former, 11.5% of the land and acquiring 9.7% of the financing provided by financial institutions; that by 2007 translates into female producers contributited 4% and male producers 37% of total Panamanian primary production, widening this gap for the years
2010 and 2015.
