In this paper an analysis of the most relevant aspects of criminal mediation with the entry into force of the adversarial criminal system in Panama is carried out. It is intended to emphasize that criminal mediation is an effective tool for the peaceful resolution of the conflict and that it generates many advantages for the parties, since it opens the way to a culture of peace. For its preparation, books by national and foreign authors, current legislation and some jurisprudence were consulted. Within the dynamics of the study, it was concluded, among other ideas, that criminal mediation empowers the intervening parties to decide their conflict more quickly, avoiding the oral trial phase, which allows effective access to justice.
