Introduction: Improving the quality of healthcare services in nursing has become the trend to follow in recent years, which is why we set the following objective in the research study: To elaborate an educational strategy to strengthen the criteria of higher deficit in the audits of Intensive Care Units. Methodology: A retrospective, quasi-experimental intervention project was conducted with a quantitative approach; a pretest and a post-test were administered to evaluate the knowledge of the nursing personnel who use the audit forms, in addition to the spotting of recurrent criteria related to the detection of shortcomings during the audit process. The data analysis was performed with the statistical program SPSS version 4.3. The sample consisted of 20 nurses. Results: The level of knowledge was 95% regarding the utilization of the formats, while 95% of the sampling considered that the formats should be modified. Conclusions: Updating the format criteria is fundamental, as well as reinforcing the application of the teaching methods so that they are precise and directed to the ones with the most deficiencies detected during the development of this intervention project.
