This article presents the results of research carried out in the Banana Farms of COOBANA R.L. and Chiquita Panama LLC., in Changuinola, province of Bocas del Toro, Panama, with the aim of analyzing and describing the implications and importance of Occupational Safety and Hygiene, as well as identifying the factors of working conditions related to the Quality of Work Life. A mixed approach was used in the methodology; and for the data collection a questionnaire was applied to 30 administrative collaborators and 201 workers in the farms of COOBANA R.L.; a questionnaire was also applied to 132 administrative collaborators and 357 workers of the farms of Chiquita Panama LLC. These findings reaffirm the importance of humanization of work environments that must be a fundamental criterion in the administration of human resources and the achievement of organizational objectives.
