Tourism is one of the pillars that drives the socioeconomic development of countries, because it represents an important source of foreign exchange and jobs, it is due to the movement of tourists who, motivated by the attractions offered by the destination, decide to undertake their trip. , in search of a pleasant experience, and this requires meeting their needs with transportation, lodging, food and leisure services. The present work makes an analysis of cultural tourism, from the modality of folklore, customs, traditions, addresses the relationship between tourism, folklore or cultural heritage and its impact on the activity as a factor of local development, in the same way it presents some reflections about of the form of how the tourist institutions and organizations project the attractive folklore. The objective of this work is to value folklore as an alternative to promote cultural activities in the cultural tourism segment. The same was carried out through a bibliographic review where the sources related to tourism, culture and folklore were analyzed.
