We analyze the tourist characteristics of the municipality of Pedasí, province of Los Santos, as one of the most potential tourist destinations to develop growth strategies. A descriptive study was carried out, whose methodological route was based on the quantitative research approach, in which some indicators associated with growth strategies were measured. The data collection corresponded to the application of surveys to tourism entrepreneurs in the municipality, as well as interviews with public officials. In order to achieve the research objectives, the survey was applied as a data collection instrument to 45 tourism companies, being the type of non-probabilistic sample of experts. Likewise, we interviewed public officials who are related in their daily life to tourism in Pedasí. The study showed that the greatest potential to implement new strategies were those of the aquatic attractions, such as whale watching, the sport of surfing and snorkeling. Likewise, rural tourism, hiking, fairs and festivities can be encouraged, due to their great potential. It is recommended to implement the proposal of a comprehensive administrative model, so that, in joint work, you can reach the achievement of these strategies, and the economic development of Pedasí.
