The Penonome windfarm, inside the Province of Coclé, is one of the main attractions of the region. Not only is it attractive from an aesthetic view, but also from an environmental perspective as it produces clean energy for the country. This generates frequent visits of English speaking foreigners who ask about the windfarm’s operations. Hence, the employees’ need for a certain level of technical English required for a better performance inside their working area in order to facilitate the communication with the visitors. This ESP (English for Specific Purposes) teaching project, which originates from the Regional University of Cocle, Branch of Aguadulce, seeks to facilitate the acquisition of technical English. It allows a group of 11 employees at UEP Penonome II, to increase their job performance as they develop basic conversational skills in the English language. Similarly, it aims to foster experiential and inquiry-based learning among our university students as they design, plan, and develop six conversational classes of ESP; ultimately putting into practice varied techniques for teaching English as a second language.
