Abstract

The vertiginous advance that technology presents covers all the systems of world society as an element to achieve sustainable development. In the special section of university education, multimedia systems become factors of vertiginous development of the teaching-learning process that involves other dimensions in addition to the possibility of ubiquitous education. This work shows the perception that different authors have about the impact that multimedia systems have on university education in Panama. It is an activity that is positively affecting the environment and that has been seen as necessary, as an evolution of the educational process, with the appearance of COVID 19.

The article is a documentary investigation of the presence of multimedia systems in the different spheres of Panamanian society, as a support to productive processes and, in particular, in university education. The reality of a pandemic that will mark its presence for many years, forced the university education sector to react to a very concrete reality that redefines social contact. It forced academic entities to reorganize their activities due to social distancing and multimedia systems gained strength by offering solutions that allowed the activities in the construction of knowledge do not stop.
