This article presents a detailed econometric analysis of the behavior of Banco Nacional de Panamá's equity based on investments in securities during the period January 2024–April 2025. The research is based on official data from the Superintendency of Banks of Panama and examines the relationship between equity growth and the evolution of investments made in financial instruments, primarily local ones.
The findings suggest that the bank's investment decisions have a significant impact on equity variation, reflecting the importance of a financial strategy focused on the profitability and security of its investments. It is observed that, despite changes in the financial environment, the bank maintains a conservative policy that prioritizes institutional stability through the strengthening of its assets.
The analysis reveals monthly fluctuations in both indicators, highlighting the need to apply econometric surveillance models to anticipate risks and optimize financial management. This study offers significant contributions for strategic decision-making aimed at sustained growth of bank equity.
