Abstract

Rosa Maria Britton, in her novel: We were all going to be queens, illustrates in detail through her characters, plot, climax and denouement, historical events of Cuba and Panama between 1949 and 1993. In addition, she shows characteristics of the realistic novel such as:  the behavior of each character, although they are secondary, it gives the reader the necessary drama to carry out the description and chronological situation of the time; the criticism of politicians as well as the customs of the social class; colloquial language; and plausibility.
