Abstract

Ecuador is known for its tourism potential due to the biodiversity and multiculturalism it has, places such as the Quilotoa lagoon, the Amazon jungle, the national beaches are examples of the country's potential. The study carried out had a mixed, exploratory and documentary approach in order to analyze the feasibility to create a tour operator in the Babahoyo city, through documentary review of the national cadastre of tourist establishments, surveys of city residents and interviews with the legal representatives of travel agencies domiciled in the city of Babahoyo, duly registered in the national register of tourist establishments. As a result it was identified that there is a great interest on the part of the community to know different places in the country and are willing to hire tourist intermediation.
