Abstract

The purpose of this article is to make known the importance of the evaluation of virtual learning platforms, in this case the Virtual Learning Platform NEO LMS. Currently the educational scenarios are presenting changes in the roles of educational actors such as students and teachers, also covering teaching methodologies, which has allowed the incorporation of web tools, with the purpose of reaching the student to the comfort of his home or facilitate access to class content.

 

The use and implementation of Learning Management Systems (LMS), in schools, poses several challenges, among which are identifying the strengths and weaknesses to give a solution of Virtual Learning Environments. The decision must go beyond the economic criteria and more when there is a wide variety of platforms in the market, service options and pedagogical tools, communication, interaction and administration; Difficulties in decision-making This article emerges as a result of a quantitative evaluation, which is performed to the virtual learning platform NEO, through evaluation tools based on questionnaires with closed questions that validate the components of the activities, the Resources, news and communication of the Platform. Once the strengths and weaknesses of the same were known, it was concluded that it is recommended for use in schools and that it satisfactorily approved the evaluation.
