Abstract

The trends of scientific publications made in the last five years in Panama were evaluated. Data were collected using Mendeley and Google Scholar bibliographic management tools. After collecting the data, they were structured, organized, and analyzed using text mining techniques in the statistical computing environment R. The results allowed verifying that the few publications made were mainly related to identifying pathogens with zootechnical potential transmitted by arthropod or rodents vectors caused by disturbances in the environment. Also, studies aimed to improve prevention and control activities for these agents; some from a social perspective. Finally, eco-epidemiological approaches and studies regarding animal production are in their early stages.
