Parasitism on the larvae of the butterfly Minacraga plata SE Miller, 1994 (Lepidoptera: Dalceridae) by the fly Houghia areata Fleming & Wood, 2014 (Diptera: Tachinidae) is recorded for the first time. Two M. plata larvae were collected at the edge of the forest of one of the trails located at the Hotel Summit Rainforest and Golf Resort, on leaves of Anacardium excelsum L. 1885 (Plantae: Anacardiaceae). The M. plata larvae were placed in a chamber where, after ±15 days, both began the pupal process and 33 days after collection, 10 fly pupae emerged from the M. plata pupae after 16 days. The larvae of the flies having pupated, emerged 10 adult flies of Houghia areata (Diptera: Tachinidae). We can conclude that despite being a secondary forest; the forest edges in the adjacent areas of the Hotel Summit Rainforest and Golf Resort, play a very important role as a biological corridor between the two protected areas, Soberanía National Park and Camino de Cruces National Park; additionally, these forests can house these species of butterflies and their biological controllers; which shows the natural balance that can exist in these biological corridors.
