This study examines urban growth and land use changes in the districts of Pacora and Las Garzas, Panama, between 2017 and 2023. Using Sentinel 2 satellite imagery and remote sensing techniques, a 39.4% increase in urban areas was identified, primarily due to the expansion of residential zones. Forest cover decreased by 8.3%, indicating a conversion of forests to other land uses. Grasslands increased by 3.4%, and water areas by 12.1%, possibly due to changes in water management. These results underscore the need for sustainable urban planning that balances growth with the conservation of natural resources and water management, providing a basis for future policies and studies.
