This article shows preliminary results of doctoral research whose objective is to analyze self-education as an educational and territorial process of the Nasa ethnic group, in the El Mesón Indigenous Educational Institution (INEIM) of the Honduras reservation, Municipality of Morales, Cauca, Colombia, this study It is theoretically based on the concepts of intercultural-own education, territory, territoriality and follows a non-experimental qualitative research methodology. The instruments applied were the semi-structured interview, participant observation, documentary review, discussion groups (conversations, the palabreo and the minga of thought) which are their own ways that the indigenous people use to transmit knowledge from the oral tradition. Among the results, it was found that one's own education is ancient and is oriented from the Law of origin of each ethnic group, from the family and community in harmony with Mother Earth, the cosmos and the spirituality necessary to exist with identity, contemplated as the main axis the passage of time that per se guarantees education for life, relating to nature, other ethnic groups, society in general and is materialized from wisdom and knowledge in an experiential way to live well, with a very important role in the construction of territoriality and the development of communities, finally it is a political dimension that has the capacity to construct educational processes and proposals with critical foundations regarding the education that indigenous people in Colombia need.
