Education is permeated by changing realities with new technologies, the labor market, artificial intelligence and globalization, among other issues, which makes it possible to plan routes where quality meets the context and this allows us to glimpse and implement the new challenges that must be assumed. This article is a theoretical review of strategies that lead to learning, teaching, and assessment by competences, from an inclusive, flexible, and dynamic curriculum that adapts to active methodologies and integrates perspectives such as the Tuning project, enabling the visualization of possible changes in favor of education. Based on a reflexive hermeneutic approach, the contributions of other investigations and their convergences, this qualitative research allows us to reflect on the problems that emerge in education; as a result, by placing our gaze on the role of teachers and students, the benefits and shortcomings of the education system are evident.
