The paper reviews the Spanish indigenous politics in America and Panama, and explains the explicit and implicit intentions, its successes and failures. Genocide and ethnocide are discussed and it analyzes and quantifies the devastating indigenous depopulation, the indigenous resistance to the evangelizing project and its failure among the neophyte or New Christian natives.
