Classification of causal statements has been one of the most controversial aspects of syntax. The work done by language experts on the matter pave the way for new attempts to organize causal statements. Staying within the framework of micro- and macrosyntax, a new classification proposal is developed from a critical review of seven classifications presented by other authors, both in conceptual and terminological fields, and offers a series of verification methods or syntactic strategies to recognize and distinguish the established classes and subclasses.
