The objective of this scientific article is to analyze the articulation between higher education in tourism and the hotel business sector in Panama, from the perspective of tourism management, to understand its contribution to the development of professional competencies in higher education. Methodologically, the study adopted a qualitative approach with a descriptive-interpretative design, based on the systematization of teaching experiences carried out between 2024 and 2025. The units of analysis comprised the teaching staff and a documentary review of 75 student performance files in technical immersion activities, Expo Fiesta 2025, and inter-institutional agreements. Data collection techniques included participant observation, document analysis, and pedagogical reflection workshops. The categorized findings demonstrate that direct interaction with real operational environments optimizes procedural mastery in front desk, banquets, and logistics, while strengthening soft skills focused on leadership, conflict resolution, and working under pressure. It is concluded that reflected pedagogical praxis and university-industry linkage constitute fundamental epistemological axes for updating university curricula and responding effectively to the dynamic demands of the contemporary labor market.
