Abstract

Water is a valuable resource for all living beings, society has always resorted to water to generate and maintain economic growth and that is why water resources are affected by multiple uses such as agriculture, industry and domestic consumption. Therefore, the availability and culture of use of the resource of drinking water are fundamental elements for the improvement of the quality of life and the development of the entire national population. The research highlights the importance of maintaining a culture and practices of responsible water use in order to influence water availability and quality. The aim is to know the level of awareness of the population of the province of Panama Oeste, about the responsible use of water, in the districts of Arraiján and La Chorrera, in order to find alternatives to face its scarcity. Carry out an in-depth analysis of the importance for all of us in the fulfillment of the 2030 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), in this case we refer in this research to the fulfillment of goal No. 6, called CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION. It also seeks to identify water use habits in communities affected by water scarcity in the districts mentioned above. Review the actions taken by the authorities to address the problem of adequate water supply in Western Panama. Propose alternatives to promote the responsible use of water in the residents of the communities of Arraiján and La Chorrera. This research has as its scope the province of Panama Oeste, specifically the households and communities most affected by the lack of water. The type of research design we will use is Mixed, as it includes Qualitative and Quantitative methods.
