With the purpose of making known the presence of Goniozus microstigmi Evans, 1993 in Panama and its hosts, were sampled specimen with Malaise traps and yellow trays; and visually nests of Microstigmus, from February 1994 to January 2013. As results were collected a total of 77 specimens of Goniozus spp., of which only five specimens come into Goniozus microstigmi Evans, 1993; tree of them localized in Los Santos province, La Tronosa Forest Reserve and the others two in the province of Darien, Darien National Park. As potential hosts of G. microstigmi, were collected a total of 20 nests and 65 specimens of the genus Microstigmus; in which 62 specimens with 18 nests correspond to M. adelphsus Richard, 1972; two specimens with one nest to M. miconiae Richard, 1972 and one specimen with one nest to M. xanthoceles Melo & Matthews, 1997. This indicates that the species Microstigmus mostly distributed and more common is M. adephus. These data make up the first record of Goniozus microstigmi Evans, 1993 in Panama, and also provides information about the biology and ecology of both groups of insects. Additionally, also we elaborated a key to identify the species of Microstigmus present in Panama, the probably host species of G. microstigmi in Panama.
