Abstract

In 2007, a closure of the Pacific green lobster fishery established in Las Perlas Archipelago, this occurs every year from December 1 to April 15. However, the impact this ban has had is unknown. This study reports baseline information. The catch (kg) of lobster tail per diver per fishing trip calculated at 1.3 kg. Twenty five percent of lobster tails do not reach 12 cm (legal minimum size) and smaller abdominal sizes were recorded for males and females to those reported for Las Perlas 8 years ago. 96 metric tons estimated as the total catch for the 2014 season.
