The abundance and diversity of shorebirds on El Agallito beach was determined between September 2021 and April 2022, with a monthly observation, according to the amplitude of the tide, for a period of 2 hours. The sightings were segmented into three cycles: the rainy season, from September to November, the dry season from December to the beginning of March, and the dry season from the end of March to April. An amount of 10,542, 17,898, and 914 individuals, respectively, was reported; distributed in three families: Scolopacidae in the autumn period with 63%, Charadriidae in the winter with 53.92% and Haematopodidae in the autumn season with 0.79% they were the most abundant families, respectively. Within our most representative statistical analysis, abundance is low in relation to the Berger Parker index for our three stations; In terms of our diversity, on the contrary, it was high with the aforementioned index. The decreases in birds on the beaches of Azuero should lead us to become aware and implement projects to improve spaces and habitat connection on their migration route.
