Abstract

Registers of Chimaera sp. C on the Central American Pacific. The systematic status of several specimens belonging to the
CHll\,4AERIDAE family, collected during the fish¡ng campa¡gns made in 1995 aboard the B/P Orense, in the waters of the Economic Exclusive Zone (EEZ) of the Central American Pacific was determined. Rev¡ewed l¡terature allowed ident¡fication of the individuals as Chimaera sp. C. This ¡s the flrst record of this batipelagig fish in the region. Mean values of total lengths and weights decrease from Panama to Guatemala, Regression curves (total lenghVwe¡ght) for each country sample were calculated.
