Isla Viveros is part of the Archipiélago de Las Perlas and is located north of Isla del Rey. This is an insular territory, with similar vegetation to the secondary rain forest found in others parts of Panamá. The Island is covered by secondary forest of different age. The species of different forest (dwarf secondary forest, malagueto secondary forest and high secondary forest) are similar. Ninety seven species in 53 families are reported. Families with the highest number species are Fabaceae and Poaceae. Thirty four species are of current uses by man and 7 are consumed by animals. According to the UICN list, two are considered endangered and six are considered vulnerable by ANAM.
