This study aimed to define and know the structure of the edaphic community of Collembola, in the localities of Alanje, Progreso and Barú, in the province of Chiriquí, which considered the main banana production zone in Panama. The extraction of the soil monoliths was carried out in a random way, in these localities and was processed with aid of the Berlesse funnel. The collection of specimens, was conducted, separately, processed, mounted and identified to taxonomic family level. The analyses of the data were carried out by means of the diversity index (?) proposed by Shannon-Wiener and Margalef; and for the similarity coefficients (Q). The results highlight the significant contribution of the families Isotomidae and Entomobryidae, to the structure of the edaphic community of the areas sampled. The relative abundance of individuals belonging to the families Onychiuridae, Poduridae and Sminthuridae, was reduced. The analyses, confirmed the similarity of the structure of the edaphic community, between the locations of Alanje and Progreso.
