Abstract

The current study was carried out with the aim of determining the effect of the different temperatures (18 °C, 20 °C, 22 °C, 25 °C, 28 °C, 30 °C and 32°C), on different biological and reproductive parameters of Trichogramma pretiosum reared on Anticarsia gemmatalis eggs. Parameters like the egg-adult cycle, the number of individuals per egg and the longevity were affected by these temperatures. Nevertheless, viability and sexual proportion remained constant within the studied temperature range. Therefore, the T. pretiosum strain (Parana Strain – LPr) can be considered promising to be applied as biological control agent, with high adaptation to agricultural ecosystems, where soybean (Glycine max) is been cultivated.
