Abstract

The human being in his day to day incorporates electronic products that over time deteriorate and lose their useful life, the main problem that is currently confronted is the inadequate handling and recycling process of these devices. The strategies to reduce electronic scrap from the environment in Panama are very important for the present and future of the country, since implementing strategies will achieve important results and eco-friendly models to be followed by future generations. The objective of this thesis will allow proposing a strategy that allows optimizing the management of recycling of electrical and electronic equipment, reducing pollution to the environment in Panama. Currently there are no formal strategies that seek to reduce electronic scrap, which has a direct impact on environmental pollution in Panama. This project has a methodological utility that can be used in the other countries that wish to implement it, since it is based on establishing better strategies so that Panamanian citizens know where they can dispose of their electronic scrap correctly. In turn, remove such waste from open dumps, which cause acid rain around the city.  A survey and observation will be carried out, a total sample of 30 respondents will be taken into account, techniques will be applied that will allow identifying the most frequent causes or reasons why a correct disposal of electronic scrap is not made, they will be exposed through graphs for a better understanding of it. As a result, 92% of respondents state that they do not know where to go or how to dispose of electronic scrap. Based on the above, it is concluded that the people surveyed have different educational levels, but with a culturization on how to handle, the waste of electronic scrap will decrease a large percentage of such waste, thus improving the environment.
