This article describes the results of the information obtained from a questionnaire administered to students in order to inquire about their knowledge and use of ICTs. The students attend classes in the day and night shifts at the University City and belong to the Social Communication, Economy and pharmacy Schools. According to the results, it can be stated that although the students report having knowledge of some technological tools and acknowledge their use has helped them to develop some cognitive skills and other capabilities to learn, ITCs cannot be extended to the majority, for generally that knowledge was mainly focused on the resources of Web 1.0. This could mean that it seems necessary to consider the development of competencies for using ICTs and promote the use of Web 2.0 multiple tools, either by expanding the facilities for that purpose as well as incorporating it into the everyday use in classrooms.
