The purpose of this research is to analyze the sectoral production according to the structure of the final demand and the change in the capacity of drag and impulse in the selected period. The methodological process includes the elaboration of the input -output 43 x 43 tables of the years 2007-18 of the Republic of Panama from the system of national accounts generated by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (NISC). The results show that the concentration on the services of the Panamanian economy has a strong impact on the decrease in activity, as measures are applied to curb the infection of COVID-19; presenting the ranking of the sectors of the economy according to the economic weight, their participation in this economic contraction, the classification of the capacity of drag and impulse by economic sector and the composition of these sectors considering each component of the final deman.
