Adolescence is a stage of life filled with crossroads, which contrasts with the demands of society, family environments, and friends. The physical, hormonal, and emotional changes, coupled with the quest for self-identity, make adolescents susceptible to psychosocial risks while seeking acceptance in society. This article explores the the mental health challenges faced by adolescents using drugs and the devastating results in their health when they go through pregnancy and consume licit and illicit substances. Thus, this article examines the risks and consequences on adolescent and young pregnant women using drugs, the impact on mental health, and the importance of prevention and education to mitigate the adverse cases on these drug users and their families. Nurses play a crucial role in addressing this social problem among adolescents. They must collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess and learn about the identified dependency since this approach requires competencies in prevention, promotion, treatment, and rehabilitation. Conclusion: Drugs have a direct impact on cognitive impairment and mental health. In the case of a pregnant adolescent, her newborn may show signs of withdraw along with short-, medium-, and long-term complications. Adolescent pregnancy and drug use continue to be a public health problem, highlighting the weaknesses of health systems and society itself, which require continuous intervention.
