Abstract

The creation of the Maritime Research Institute fills a gap in the maritime industry. Its purpose is the investigation of accidents, pollution, maritime routes, logistical support, infrastructure, human resources, marine and coastal resources and others related to the sea, in addition to teaching at a higher level, offering specialized master's degrees and doctorates as far as possible. The main vision is for Panama to lead this specific line of the maritime industry and to be able to offer the region the best experiences in the field of investigation of claims, collisions, accidents, transport routes, freight policy, logistics contributions and suitable areas for locations. ports and other aspects related to the entire maritime industry.
