Cash flow is considered the most liquid asset and offers the company liquidity and flexibility. Commercial companies in Panama present control problems in the execution of the processes when preparing the cash flow or cash flow, which makes it difficult to comply with internal and external regulations and policies, and therefore affects the financial obligations of the company. Through the descriptive method, we identify existing situations in commercial companies, and we investigate documents, previous studies that show that the inappropriate use of controls in cash flow processes affects these companies. For the development of their daily operations, they do not have process and procedure manuals that guide the operational user in aspects such as planning and elaboration of the cash flow budget, much less the management and creation of policies and controls that contribute to reducing uncertainty due to risks derived from errors or fraud.
