Abstract

Agribusiness development faces key challenges in the global economy, framed in food security, innovation, resource optimization and sustainability. The growing demographics in the territories involve an increase in the demand for food, which, together with the shortage of labor in the field, has driven the need for technification in the processes to improve the competitiveness and profitability of agricultural enterprises. AI is considered to be an innovative transformation tool for agricultural production that helps facilitate more informed, desirable and scalable decisions, creating essential methods for better allocation and use of resources for the development of the rural economy. This review article examines the current state of research on the use and application of artificial intelligence in agribusiness, based on a systematic analysis of literature in the area, derived from bibliographic sources and specialized databases. The results show that the use of AI in agribusiness as an innovative technology is being introduced gradually, managing to transform traditional processes and facilitating the management of efficient decisions. It is a high-value tool, with the ability to promote an inclusive, participatory and dynamic approach in the country, achieving the development of new and assertive strategies that with continuous use improve production models and ensure the profitability and sustainability of agricultural enterprises.
