Abstract

This article examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in the transformation of the traditional work relationship in Panama. This analysis covers the automation of routine tasks, the creation of new job roles and the legal implications of the growing dependence on AI in various sectors. We highlight the social and economic repercussions, as well as the ethical and legal challenges posed by the incorporation of AI systems in employment decision-making and in the development of the traditional employment relationship. The article concludes with recommendations for an adequate adaptation of Panamanian labor regulations and contextual adaptation in terms of public policies, in order to reduce negative effects and maximize emerging opportunities.
