Currently there are events and fortuitous events that require the application and implementation of technological tools that can be inserted as interactive instruments for communication, development and evaluation that help in the academic field in the teaching-learning process.

This study manipulates information that shows that students have instant and real-time communication tools that can be inserted into academic work, through the application of surveys it is possible to identify the most used social networks.

During the investigation it is established that students focus on using social networks to share information and/or resources, as well as as a means of entertainment, form groups of friends that shorten communication distance (work, social and others) .

It should, be noted that the respondents believe that the implementation of social networks in the academic field is an instrument that helps to complement the learning process, since it allows collaborate, sharing and socializing in real time.

The adequate insertion of social networks as interactive tools and the advances of ICTs contribute as a complement to the activities that are developed in the academic field in the assignments that must be carried out to achieve the evaluative aspects. 

The revelations show that social networks offer benefits and services that can be applied in the academic field, since they are part of everyday life, their proliferation and continuous use contribute to the exchange of information and instant communication in real time.
