Abstract

The article aims to analyze level of use and acceptance of ICT by university teachers at University of Panama. It is based on the contributions of constructivism and theory of connectivism. From the methodological point of view, it is framed in quantitative paradigm and deductive analytical method,

supported by mixed sources (documentary and field). Population under study was made up of teachers who worked during first semester of 2020. Population was determined based on records maintained by University of Panama. Sample was probabilistic. Selection procedure for teachers was random, respecting their areas of work. Treatment of information was done through descriptive and multivariate statistics. It was concluded that professors participating in this research affirm that ICTs are necessary for continuous improvement in university teaching processes and that they require training because they are at basic levels, which justifies the need to design and implement strategies of optimal learning for the acquisition and accreditation of digital teaching competence.
