This article aims to respond to the need to introduce a Philosophy course in secondary education in Peru. For this purpose, the proposed course comprises two distinct parts. The first part is intended to present the foundations on which the need for the course for secondary school students is based. The second part formulates the elements that express its content and pedagogical organization. In the foundations block, the reasons why a Philosophy course is indispensable to promote students' autonomous thinking, critical training, as well as promoting the analysis of ideas, stimulating the development of creative responses to the central problems of life, responsibility for our obligations, respect for our fellow men, such as the problems of ontology, knowledge or gnoseology; reflection on the problems of science and the conditions of its rigor or epistemology, the problem of freedom, the role of man in the universe, the examination of the conditions of democratic participation in societies, the formation of citizenship and fundamental rights. It will also address the issues of aesthetic values.
