parasitic larva attached to carps and tilapias, in 1990. Densities of C. fluminea were 10 ind/m2, length of animals was 27.6 mm., and they were found in a mud-sandy substrate in Santa María river. In U.S.A., this mollusk has been related to destruction of watersheds, lakes and rivers by an extraordinary population growth on the bottoms of these systems
