The research evaluated the level of importance of the ecosystem services (SE) provided by the El Colmón de Macaracas Forest to the province of Los Santos. The type of study is descriptive because it identifies and evaluates the level of importance of SEs. An evaluation matrix was used that measures the level of importance of each of the SE, after observation and identification of them. For its application, information was collected for a period of five months of fieldwork through direct observation, tours were made every fifteen days along the forest trails. Camera traps and community survey were also used to a representative sample of residents in areas near the forest. It was possible to identify three types of services: regulation and support (8 benefits), sociocultural (4 benefits) and supply (7 benefits). These results are conclusive of a good state of conservation of the forest, indicating this, that there is still time for decision makers and the population in general to act in favor of the conservation of this protected area.
