The molluscs and crustaceans of the epifauna in the mangroves of La Honda and Che Paulito, Los Santos, were collected during June, July, and August 2019 and 2020, in two quadrants of 100 m2 each, in both mangroves, manually sampled. The organisms from both periods were added, resulting in 5,314 individuals in the first mangrove and 4,669 in the second, with the Uca sp1 crab dominating in both; no differences in abundance were observed between years in either of the two sites. High diversity was obtained concerning other mangroves, despite the edge effect, with H' index values between 1.10 and 2.04 between both mangroves, with interannual statistical differences. This variation could not be attributed to El Niño/La Niña phenomena, nor the effect of the extraction of invertebrates by the inhabitants of the surrounding areas, restricted by the confinement caused by SARCOV-2.
