The environmental crisis is one of the most significant issues worldwide. In the case of the Central American Isthmus, the Panama Canal construction reduces the distance between two oceans. However, the devastation of large forest areas in the region, plus the migration of human settlements, causes significant changes in the geography of Panama. As a result, the new habitat of some populations, due to changes in the physical and social structure of the capital city, gave birth to what is known as San Miguelito. The relevance of our object of study is aimed to reveal the consequences of the articulation of an urban center, devoid of friendly space planning for recreation, education and trade, in accordance to a rational strategy.
