The importance of recognizing and addressing the influence of the family environment on children's academic performance highlights the need for effective strategies that promote active collaboration between the family and the educational institution. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of family support on sixth-grade children in basic education to increase their academic performance. The applied research method is quantitative with a descriptive methodology, and a survey was conducted with the institution's director, teachers, parents, and students as the implemented technique. The results of this research reveal a lack of attention from parents in providing adequate emotional support during the educational process, leading to low academic performance in students, with family, emotional, and psychological factors identified as the most influential. On the other hand, the crucial importance of a strong and committed family is emphasized. According to the survey directed at parents, family coexistence issues, such as the absence of parents or dedication to long working hours, significantly impact academic performance, creating a school conflict. In conclusion, the lack of emotional support and family difficulties emerge as key challenges that negatively impact the academic performance of sixth-grade students.
