Abstract

The project is the result of the development of PBL in the subject "Neuroeducation" in the Doctorate in Education at UMLA, in the period of September-October 2023. The purpose was to evaluate the Emotional Intelligence (EI) of a group of primary education teachers from school zone #61 of San Nicolás de los Garza, N.LMexico to raise awareness with infographics about EI and develop a proposal for strategies to improve teaching competencies in EI. We worked according to the PBL methodology and documentary research techniques were used, with a mixed approach. It was prepared and developed using an instrument in Microsoft Forms, using a questionnaire validated by Urrutia-Herrera (2022) and was applied to a sample of 32 teachers. The results showed that teachers have a high level of self-motivation and social skills and a medium level of self-knowledge, self-control and empathy. This diagnosis was used to develop a proposal for strategies to improve teaching competencies in EI.
