Abstract

The language improvement strategy designed by the MINSAP, to achieve a university graduate of Medical Sciences, who is capable of showing communicative competence in English, proposes different methodological actions to be carried out with the aim of training university students to acquire knowledge. Required to reach the levels proposed by the common European framework of references for languages, in the use of Higher Education as a platform. Various studies address the issue of communicative limitations in medical English, as well as the importance of interdisciplinary to reduce these deficiencies; however, in practice, teachers of the discipline, particularly those who work in the first year of the degree, at the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba, they continually realize the limitations of students when it comes to linking medical activities, experiences as future doctors and the skills acquired with the English language. For this reason, the constant search for information and alternatives that support the solution of said problem is of vital importance. The main contribution of this research article is that it is a proposal of activities to link the English II subject with the Main Integrative discipline supported by contextualized didactic structures.
