Management practice recognizes that the strategic management of information technologies based on processes is considered an indisputable must for any organization. This new approach has led institutions to implement a new philosophy with an integrating perspective considering the entire business process from back-to-back seeking optimization and integration of functions with internal and external processes. The objective of this research is to provide a theoretical approach that analyzes the essential aspects which characterize business intelligence as the basis for the construction of integrated systems for information management both in general and in particular with an emphasis on higher education institutions. A diagnostic study is performed at the Instituto Superior Politécnico Tocoísta de Angola (ISPT), where the substantive functions, associated processes and main difficulties related to the subject under investigation are analyzed and the most significant results associated with the information system are presented. Finally, an integrated solution proposal is presented based on an ERP platform implementation strategy to incorporate business.
