It is important to recognize that the integral development of the human being, among other elements, depends on reading, a society that does not have reading competence cannot progress or advance, even worse, keep up with technology, especially in the area of Education. The objective is to analyze the contributions of digital reading for the development of creative thinking in students of the tenth year of Ecuadorian basic education. It is a study with a qualitative approach, of bibliographic and descriptive scope, the research technique that was used was the interview applied to 10 teachers. The main result indicates that for 70% of those interviewed, digital reading can be considered a new teaching-learning strategy for this technological world. In conclusion, methodological strategies must be implemented through digital reading, relevant and adequate to motivate the development of thinking in children and young people in a creative way.
