Abstract

For the design of the Universidad de Panama, Centro Regional Universitario de Veraguas (CRUV) web portal, the web development methodology of John December was applied.  Currently, it is necessary to perform the innovation process of the Web development methodology, with the aim to adapt the portal to the institution's knowledge management system. This process begins with a heuristic evaluation using the SIRIUS evaluation system, performed by four evaluators from the institution itself. The results show a mean usability of 85.3% with a standard deviation of 3.5%. It identified the usability's main non-compliance criteria. These results allow to identify the need to plan the next stage, to perform user experience tests (card sorting, cognitive walkthrough), to improve the portal.
